Just to recap, I signed up in January to run the Swansea Half Marathon on 9th June this year and have been training since. The race is 21km, and the longest I had run in the previous 12 months was 8km. I will get around the course but may need to walk part of it.
I am fundraising for Shelter Cymru because I believe that Home is Everything. You can find out more about their work here.
I am looking to raise £500 to help with their work and am now halfway there. So we are halfway there, and I am overwhelmed by everyone’s support. My training is in the peak phase, which is all about miles. In the last four weeks, I’ve run for more than 90km, which I really feel in my legs. It’s also taken over a good chunk of my life, which has meant music has taken a bit of a back seat.
With three weeks to go, the mileage will start to decrease, but the intensity will increase as I do shorter, faster runs. Once again, thanks for your support so far; hopefully, we can hit that £500 target.
If you haven’t given so far, you can do so here
